I look closely at how technology changes people.
I am a Ph.D. student in Intelligence and Information at Seoul National University, working in HCI and human-centered AI.
Many of my projects begin at the moment when people first have to deal with an AI system: someone unsure what to ask in a hospital, a student who needs help but does not want to burden a peer, or a user wondering whether an AI agent’s recommendation should be trusted.
I am interested less in grand predictions about the future and more in these small moments of friction. Why do some people hesitate to ask? Why do some voices have to be translated before they are taken seriously? Why can help feel convenient and unsettling at the same time?
The topics vary across accessibility, healthcare, education, and information access, but the direction is consistent. I want to design systems that do not simply make life smoother on people’s behalf, but leave people room to understand and adjust their own lives.
